Greetings starshines!
Apologies for the lack of updates this month. It's not that I haven't been inspired (in fact, I always have loads to blog about) but I've been rather busy with more hectic shifts so when I am actually free, I'd usually spend the whole day sleeping my butt off for some much needed rest.
Anyways, on with the post!
You'll probably know a lot of people who don't believe in new year resolutions (or you're probably one of those people) but I just love making a whole list of them! It's a good way for me to stay positive for the upcoming year and there are still so many things to look forward to eg my New Zealand trip, my cousin's wedding, a new niece/nephew etc.
I know that since school ended, resolutions just gets more less interesting (I literally have at least one cousin getting married every year) but it's enough to make me feel excited about it.
Also, people usually worry about sticking to their resolutions and truth be told, I tend to get carried away almost all the time. So as much as I would say that I'm absolutely determined to stick to these ones, I know that deep down I probably will forget about them :/ I will still try tho!
And with that, for this new year, I would like to..
Bake more. Baking has been a hobby of mine since school ended and it taught me that there is no shortcut to success. It literally took me 3-4 tries to perfect a vanilla cupcake. I believe that in some alternate universe where I can choose what I want to be when I grow up without having to worry about risks, I would choose to open up a small cake business. I know it sounds pretty ambitious, but if it took my mum 40+ years for her to find out that being a yoga instructor is her calling, I guess it would be fine for me to be a stay home baker some day. But for now, I would like to perfect more recipes and probably be more daring enough to try baking cakes and experiment on frostings.
Stick to a strict blogging schedule. I recently bought myself a desk planner and I've already jotted down my shifts for the first two weeks of January. So I managed to plan out my days where I can blog. It won't really be on the same day all the time but I guess it's better than not having a schedule at all!
Get healthy. I know right, so cliche! To be honest, this year was the year I actually committed myself to starting a fitter lifestyle and for awhile, I actually saw myself feeling and looking better. I guess at some point, I lost my motivation. Besides, it costs a lot to stay healthy! Like getting yogurt, oats and cereal, fruit that my family seldom eat (eg avocado, strawberries). So for the coming year, I don't want to commit myself into such a rigid routine. I'll just exercise when I can and eat less junk. Realistic enough?
Save to start a makeup collection. I have always envied beauty/lifestyle gurus on youtube with huge makeup collections. I'm not surprised that easily half of their makeup stash comes from their PO boxes but unfortunately for simple people like me, I don't get sponsored by cosmetic companies *sniffs* I saw a video online on how to start a makeup collection and the main tip is to just save and start slow.
I guess besides learning to be more appreciative/patient, that's all I could think off. I'm certain that along the way, I'd somehow think of new goals I would like to achieve but until then, here's my two cents.
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! Love you all and see you in my next post! Xoxo
