It seems as though it has been forever since my family had a chalet. I'm actually not at all close to my relatives but I do get along fairly well with everyone on my maternal side despite the hiccups in the past. Initially, I wanted to give this a miss too but then again, this might be the last time we all get to hang out together. I mean, look at all of us. All grown up and I practically have no cousins in primary school left!
I guess out of all of us, I won't be surprised if I'd be the only one having to miss lots of other family gatherings in the future since I'll most probably be working shifts (and on weekends too). Trust me guys, if you have the option to work shifts or office hours, DO NOT work shifts. It honestly sucks the fun out of your life since the only time you'll be free is when everyone else is working and vice versa.
Nonetheless, I have absolutely no regrets going to the chalet that weekend - being able to hang out with my cousins and going in and out of the swimming pool and playing with the nieces and nephews. It feels as though we were back in the younger days when all we did was swim and swim till our skin wrinkle. And oh gosh, that terrible attempt to put my fringe out of my face! I think I gave up at one point of time and decided to do a top knot and let me just say that it soooo does not suit me - especially with that large forehead!
Shan't really go into the details about what I did for that three days but I guess the only downside of the trip was sleeping on the cold hard floor for both nights (because my sleeping bag didn't do enough justice of providing us comfort). Oh well.
That's about it for now. I do apologize for the lack of updates lately. I told you working shifts sucks the fun out of my life. Really looking forward to finishing this four months of attachment and then I'll be F-R-E-E .
Goodnight lovelies Xx
